ABOUT DR. MAXIE-MOREMAN
Ashley Maxie-Moreman, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist, currently working in the HIV Prevention and Treatment program at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. She also holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and of Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. And she is the Founder and CEO of E-Resilience Wellness Center (EWC), a therapy practice focused on providing specialized therapy for youth who've experienced online harm.
Dr. Maxie-Moreman's research examines discrimination in digital spaces, health outcomes, and protective mechanisms. Her research also explores chronic illness identity among youth living with Sickle Cell Disease. Through her research and practice, she aims to better understand the health impact of online discrimination among youth with intersecting marginalized identities to create transformative pathways towards improved health outcomes for and in collaboration with these youth. Dr. Maxie-Moreman is a Southern girl, born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Southern Tennessee and Central Florida. She loves food, reading, and travel. Her favorite places to be are in the coastal South, at a good diner, or in a local coffee shop or bookstore.
